Dear Michigan/Ontario Region Member

We had a very successful January Activity at Paul & Sandy Wise's collection with more than 50 members and guests attending. Our February event is a social get-together for lunch at the Courthouse Grille in Plymouth, MI.  It is our "2017 CCCA Crank Up" Activity and we look forward to seeing you there - hopefully the weather will permit you to drive a Classic car.

41661 Plymouth Road, Plymouth, MI 48170 has been a reknowned restaurant for years. Part of the structure was originally a homestead which was made into a restaurant in 1934 and was added on to through the years. It first started as the Hillside Barbecue, then Hillside Inn for years before becoming Ernesto's in the 80's. It is currently the Courthouse Grille and still features Chef Ernesto's Italian dishes.

- Facebook -

Everyone on our club mailing list was recently sent an invitation to visit our new Facebook page

I am hoping this effort was not too clumsy or intrusive on my part - I am very new at trying this means of reaching our membership (and perhaps too old to attempt this) so it may have arrived in an unfamiliar form without an appropriate introduction.

Facebook is not for everyone and it is not intended to strictly and exclusively represent the interests of  the 'classic car' audience.  Recognizing that many of us belong to more than one 'car club' and have interests beyond the scope of CCCA, this Facebook page is my attempt to see if there was enough interest among our members for us to break new ground.

A 'Facebook Page' does represent another way to try to share interesting information, opportunities, and experiences about our core theme and passion - Classic Cars - that is not appropriate within the CCCA website guidelines (I hope to include facets of Classic Cars such as 'speed, design, art, humor, literature, tools, other club & organization activities, etc. that are under represented when one follows the strict CCCA website guidlelines.

It is also an opportunity to encourage younger people who might not otherwise get to know us and it does represent a way to reach non-members with whom we have something in common.  I hope you will at least visit the page - your comments are always appreciated !

- Save-the -Date -

Currently we have not planned a local Activity in March due to a potential conflict with the
CCCA National Meeting in Reno, NV during March 29 - April 2

How would you rather spend your time traveling to Reno ?

In the relaxing atmosphere of a 'state-of-the-art' self-driving Club Car with other members of the Michigan Region ?

Or limited to one bag while holding your shoes in an airport security line ?

Recall that a group of MI Region members is planning to travel together to the CCCA National Meeting by train.  They wish to extend an invitation to everyone who also plans to attend this meeting to join them for the two-day, relaxing & fun trip from Detroit to Reno.  If you are interested please cont either Floy Barthel (lfbarthel@yahoo.com) or Greg Stachura (gstatchura@comcast.net) ASAP.
